Our research lab offers third-party interpretation of echocardiographic studies for clinical trials and serves as consultants or collaborators for studies worldwide. Our echocardiographers have trained at world-renowned institutions and contribute extensive research and clinical experience. In addition, we leverage our position as the highest volume clinical echo lab in Western Canada (performing 25,000 studies annually) and the computing power of UBC Advanced Research Computing (ARC) to develop innovative in-house machine learning models.
Our AI Echo platform is expanding with the support of the Canada Foundation for Innovation, which is funding the infrastructure to link cardiac imaging with clinical data across the province (PopdataBC) and beyond. The AI Echo Core Lab will form the foundation for a modern platform that connects our extensive imaging data with key clinical factors to develop state-of-the-art AI models that integrate clinical outcomes, risk factors, and genomics.
